Two of Julies’ three children had Friedreich’s Ataxia, an incurable progressive degenerative disease of the central nervous system.

The devastating disease slowly robs the person of their ability to walk, talk and swallow. Julie’s son Matthew was diagnosed at the age of 9 and tragically passed away when he was 18. His younger sister Claire was diagnosed when she was 9 years old.

Julie represents thousands of mothers who do what they can to look after their disabled children. Julie will not let FA stop her family from enjoying life.
