Hope PowellHope was appointed as the first ever full-time National Coach of the England Women’s team in 1998. This year she took her team to Germany to the FIFA Women’s World Cup – England’s second World Cup since Hope’s appointment. In 2003 she became the first woman to achieve the UEFA Pro Licence - the highest coaching award available.

As a player Hope made her international debut at the age of 16 and won 66 caps and scored 35 goals. She won the FA Women’s Cup three times while playing for Millwall Lionesses.
