Gabby is in her third term in the US House of Representatives, she is a democrat and the third woman in Arizona’s history to be elected to the U.S. Congress.

In January a gunman attempted to assassinate Gabby during a public meeting at a supermarket. Six people were killed and thirteen injured.

Gabby was shot in the head and her condition was critical. She has since recovered some of her ability to walk, speak, read and write. In June she was released from the rehabilitation hospital and returned home.
