Clare joined the BBC in 1994 as a trainee and worked on Radio 1, Radio 2, Five Live and Radio 4. Clare has shone in a male dominated arena, she regularly presents for the BBC fronting horse racing, rugby league and coverage of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. She regularly writes columns for The Observer and Sporting Life.

Two years ago it was announced that Clare had thyroid cancer she had her thyroid gland removed and received treatment; the post-treatment scan showed that the cancer had not spread anywhere else.
